Venice was initially founded by tobacco millionaire, Abbot Kinney, in 1905 as a premier beach resort. Today Abbot Kinney Blvd., named after the visionary and entrepreneur, features foodie hotspots and restaurants, bars, stylish and eclectic boutiques, salons, galleries and coffee shops. Aside from Abbot Kinney Blvd, Venice is also known for its muscle beach and charming Venice Canals which houses unique homes and arching pedestrian bridges; named after Venice, Italy. You can’t possibly walk the streets of Venice and not run into an art piece; whether it be a mural or an installation of some sort. The neighborhood has an artsy, hipster vibe and is full of sweet surprises.
