Playa Vista is a newer neighborhood on the Westside of Los Angeles that is just North of the Los Angeles Airport (LAX). The area was initially inhibited by the Tonga Native Americans, then years later became the headquarters of Hughes Aircraft Company, with the construction of the "Spruce Goose." The Spruce Goose building is now the headquarters to the multinational tech company Google. Playa Vista, along with Santa Monica and Venice, has evolved into the high tech hub of Los Angeles and a preferred address for businesses in technology, media and entertainment, known as Silicon Beach. Not into Air Crafts or technology? Not to worry because Playa Vista also has Plenty of other fun points of interest for families to enjoy such as: the Runway (Playa Vista’s social hub and retail destination), the Resort (two story gym, olympic pool and spa with outdoor fireplace and lounge seating), a plethora of parks and recreation facilities, Fisherman's Village where you can shop for souvenirs, boat bike or have a nice meal oceanside, Mother's Beach & Venice Pier where you can enjoy entertainment and eclectic eats along the boardwalk!
